Bronzeville Summer Nights (BSN) is an event series pairing local arts, culture and entertainment in some of the Bronzeville area's best businesses. Our goal is to ignite & stimulate the community with art, music, food, local performances and so much more.

BSN will host an outdoor retail pop up market that connects over 2,500 event attendees to your products and services. It will be promoted through the event’s digital and printed channels. Below are the dates and locations. Locations are subject to change and there will be an indoor venue in the event of inclement weather.

 

  • Session 1: Friday, June 14

    • 47th Street – Drexel to Lake Park | BSN Market: 47th & Greenwood (Parking lot just east of Little Black Pearl)

 

  • Session 2: Friday, July 12

    • 43rd Street – Greenwood to Cottage Grove | BSN Market: 43rd & Ellis

 

  • Session 3: Friday, August 9

    • 47th Street – Cottage Grove to King Drive | BSN Market: 47th & Champlain (Lot just west of Two Fish) 

 

  • Session 4: Friday, Sept 13

    • 43rd Street – Cottage Grove to King Drive | BSN Market: 43rd & Forrestville (Lot just east of Agriculture)

Product and Vendor Criteria

  • Small (independent) product and service vendors can apply.

  • Examples of product vendors can include: Arts; clothing; fashion; accessories; beauty; books/stationery; home, foods, beverages, and more.

  • Food vendors can sell shelf stable, pre-prepared and pre-packaged foods or beverages  that require minimal warming or cooling and light assembling. No onsite cooking or packaging allowed. Vendors need to have their own power source.

  • Products and service brands sold at the market must be safe and family friendly.

  • The sale of the following products or services are prohibited: Alcohol; Weapons; Drugs or drug paraphernalia; Nudity or sexually explicit ; Gender, political or racially sensitive

  • If there is the sale of any prohibited items at the event, vendor will be removed from the market with no refund.

  • If there is any question on if an item or service qualifies, please email BSN@SokoniStore.com with pictures and/or a description of the item/service in question.

  • All participating vendor businesses are responsible for having all necessary City of Chicago Business licenses and general liability insurances. A Chicago Pop Up License is not required to vend at this event. Contact QCDC at (773) 268-7232 or BACP at (312) 74- GO BIZ if any specific questions regarding this.

 

Application & Fees

  • Submission of a vendor application (Interest Form) is REQUIRED. Your application will be reviewed and if approved, a registration fee $75 will be due to reserve your space. This is the only fee collected for this event. Space is limited.

  • Application Deadlines are 2 weeks prior to the BSN event.

  • Registration fee is non refundable. Applications can be downloaded OR completed and submitted online at www.sokonistore.com/popups

BSN Pop Up Market Packages

  • $75 flat fee includes: 1- 6 ft table and 2 folding chairs

 

Administrative & Logistics

  • Set up: 6 ft tables and 2 chairs will available by the 4:00-5:30 pm for each session

  • Product selling hours: 6:00 – 9:00 pm for each session

  • Take down: begins at 9:00 pm and completed by 10:00 pm

  • Vendors are responsible for managing your own transactions. So should have the ability to make change if collecting cash.  

  • Tents are allowed. Your table will be 6 ft long, so ensure your tent is not much longer that that as we want you to be respectful of your vending neighbor.

  • Vendors must ensure that their portion of the event premise is clean and that all garbage, rubbish and other waste is disposed of in a clean and safe manner.

BSN Pop Up Market Packages

  • $115 reserves your spot at the festival.

  • Food trucks locations are limited and first come first served.

  • Your exact location at the event will be communicated within 1 week of the event. But you will be located in the corridor noted above.

 

Administrative & Logistics

  • Food selling hours: 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

  • Set up begins at your designated space no earlier than 5:00 pm

  • Food trucks need to leave your space no later than 9:30 pm

  • Food truck is responsible for…

    • Keeping food area attractive before, during and after the event.

    • Providing a quality food product and a food truck that is staffed by clean, professional and courteous personnel.

    • Supplying own power sources (if needed)

  • Insure that grease and abrasives will not be disposed of on event property.

  • Vendor will remove all trash in immediate food area during set up and breakdown. Trash receptacles in food area cannot be used for discarding food, grease or other waste materials. No trash is allowed to be left in food area after breakdown.

  • Small radios are allowed. Amplification equipment is NOT permitted.
